Objective: explore the environmental consequences of agricultural activities on water quality.

1. Define water quality.

2. Make a list of ways in which human activities negatively affect water quality.

3. Working in pairs, investigate the following two water quality issues;

• eutrophication
• salinisation

• an example

4. Explain the impact of agriculture on lakes and aquifers, considering both water quality and water scarcity.
